Blimey o’ riley this was good. When a band can successfully combine quirky wit and charisma with music that moves effortlessly from one set of dynamics to another, you know you’re dealing with real quality and individuality. The whole show was more like a concept album, largely because the main central chunk consisted of a trilogy, and it was here that things really kicked off. The pensive, soft-rock strumming of ‘ A River of Feelings’ merged into bouncing, Gorgol Bordello-esque fun with great drum fills and confident speed increases in the aptly-named ‘Eastern Comfort’. But it was the psychedelic ambience and heart-felt guitar soloing in the final third of the performance that captured the epic essence of Pink Floyd and left everyone yearning for more.
Different and slightly surreal, whilst entertaining and genuine. So, for heaven’s sake go and see them.

9/10

Set list:

  1. ‘Running back to trouble’
  2. ‘A River of Feelings’ (trilogy part 1)
  3. ‘Eastern Comfort’ (trilogy part 2)
  4. ‘Nikita’ (trilogy part 3)
  5. ‘Few and Far Between’
