These guys really know how to rock. From the deep, crunching yet well-paced groove of ‘Bitter Sweet Decline’ through to the stomping dinosaur stampede that was ‘Over the Edge’, Last Reprieve never failed to deliver in all things gargantuan yet polished. Mammoth riffs, high up the neck Slash-esque solos and moments of atmospheric echo all flowed fantastically and were driven forward by their ‘get-on-with-it’ attitude and generally very positive demeanour. The lead guitarist, for example, demonstrated real rock swagger but at the same time had a clear sense of humour and looked really happy to be there. Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Bon Jovi; Last Reprieve cite all these among their influences, and all were reflected in their set. Hugely enjoyable stuff.
