The Flight
3 piece punk band from Stoke-on-Trent, making enough noise to drown out a world war, heavily influenced by punk scenes old and new, citing their gods as the Foo Fighters, Green day, the Sex Pistols, and Alkaline Trio. The band formed in October 2007, with Josh Barlow (guitar, backing vocals), Tom Moreton (bass, vocals), and Danny Beardmore (drums).

Capturing the ethos of the 70s punk scene perfectly, The Flight probably spent about as much time playing their stuff as they did talking to the crowd. Which isn’t good when the people who have turned up just want to hear your music. What they did play was a mixed bag, but with plenty of promise. ‘The One Hard Goodbye’ was riotous, with a strong pace and plenty of defiant racket. ‘Private Eye’ showed that the band can write decent lyrics, which ‘School Days’, a rant about life as a teenager at High School, just didn’t convey. Terrible then, you might say. But, considering that they’ve only been together for a month and a half, this isn’t dreadful by any means; it just needs a lot of time and work.
