An admirable effort, but this needs work. As it stands, it isn’t ska; it’s punk with some throw-away horns chucked in for novelty value. They do have their moments, with ‘Never Look Back’ being a standout track with pace, energy and a well utilized bridge, but any potentially catchy melodies are often ruined by the sloppy nature of the brass section. It was also very noticeable that during one of their songs, the half of the audience who weren’t college students and who weren’t throwing rubber rings around lost interest. The main problem seems to be one of ambition. If they want to be more than something to impress their friends, then they need to invest a lot more time in the practice department, rather than the gimmick department.
