The Zero Symphony
3 piece un-classifiable band from Manchester, sporting a ridiculous range of influences from Incubus to Metallica, Pantera to My Chemical Romance, and Placebo to The Who.

With too much in the way of a metal edge for punk-rock and too many rocky licks for nu-metal, The Zero Symphony proved difficult to categorize. One thing is for sure though; they have an incredibly big, full sound for a three-piece. Attitude-filled vocals, nice high guitar bends (sparingly-used but effective), choppy metal chords, nifty bass lines in ‘Bleed like Heroin’ and ‘7th Wednesday’ and particularly impressive drumming in ‘For Nothing’ all make for a punchy, confident set.
A little more in the way of dynamic range wouldn’t go amiss though; the guitarist does tend to re-hash the same guitar lines quite a lot, but in the last two tracks he really branches out with some good alternate picking in solos that sing out brilliantly, and the Iron Maiden-esque opening of ‘Sweet Vodka Makeover’ is very cool indeed.
